like l said l have a 2005 mazda rx8 ( shinka Ed. ) l have heard of folks bore the 2 rotor out to fit the 3rd rotor and l was wondering if anyone knows of any shops that can and are willing to do the work and if so a price estimate. l know l can do a swap but l have a perfectly good block, 20k on it so l would like to work off of it, my rwhp goal is 450+ any other suggestions are helpful.............thanks

EDIT: l guess l need to really read the full question before l answer. It would be cheaper to get a RX-7 on the side for a project car and keep the RX-8 untouched as a daily driver.

The 2 rotor and the 3 rotor are completely different engines. There for you can not ''Bore out'' the 2 rotor and make it a 3 rotor. The only way to have a 3 rotor engine is to import a used one and have it installed into your car by a custom car shop. The 3 rotor engines run about $3,000 - $4,000 used and the conversion usually runs around $10,000

no, you cant do that. what you're trying to do is the equivelant of boring a V6 into a V8, it just doesnt work that way.
