l have been told that these rotary engines go bad around 90,000 miles and that it is a pain in the ass to fix them being the type of engine it is any tips??

yes its true about the engines..not much people like to deal with the engine..most white people(not trying to be racist) swap it out for the ls1 motor.and the asian people swap it for the sr20det, rb26dett, 2jz and vq engines..

They tend to not last as long but enthusiasts usually blame it on how few people know how to maintain a rotary.

Most people who bought them did not know how to take care of rotary engines.

If you can find one that was owned by someone who knows how to maintain them and take care of them, then they will be reliable.

If u kill a rotary in 90,000 miles, u deserved to be flogged by every Rotary owner around the world. Okay, all kidding aside, whoever told u that does not know a thing about rotary maintenence, period. Chances r that person let it run dry of oil, or started it & hit boost right away.

Watch the oil, add as necessary. Let it warm up (IDLING!) for 15 minutes on cold starts & cool down 5-10 minutes after boost & it will reward u with a greatly extended life, up to 400,000 miles if u r gentle with the boost.
