l have a 2008 mazda 3 l sport 4 speed automatic / Sport shift.l bought it a few months ago and really want a 5 speed manual, so im going to trade it in for the exact same model, but just a standard transmission. How much do you think l would end up paying? It has almost 5,000 miles on it and is in new condition.l payed $14,325 from a deal they had.

you're going to lose a lot from the deal. probably close to 11K is what you will get. well, no, in trade, probably only 8-9k

Financially, ur best bet is to keep the car, but if you're unhappy driving it, it is not worth it.

If u can find a new 2008 still, l bet u could get it for around $13,000. A 2009 (when they hit the dealer soon) will cost u closer to $14,000. Those r the costs outright, before ur trade-in.

It is worth a trip to the dealer to ask about the trade-in, but l think the most you'd get is maybe $12,000. They can sell it as a certified used vehicle, so the dealer might want it. l think u should also list it for sale privately & see if u get any offers. You will make more money selling it yourself than trading it in.

You might see if any local dealers have used models with standard transmissions. l know my dealer had some when l ordered my Mazda3 in June.

My estimate: if u trade it in for a new car, u will probably owe about $2,000. You might come out nearly even if u can get ahold of a used 2008 instead.
